Durley Parish Council held its Monthly Parish Council Meeting on Tuesday 8th September, 2015 in the Ken Stainer Suite at Durley Memorial Hall, Durley. 5 Parish Councillors, District Councillor Ruffell and the Clerk – Mrs Anne Collins were present.
Apologies were received from Cllr Charles, Cllr Watts and County/District Councillor Humby. In the absence of the Chairman and Vice Chairman Cllr Smith took the Chair for the Meeting.
A quote was received from Scandor for the drainage of The Sawmills, but it was agreed to obtain further quotes as the cost was fairly high.
Cllr Burton reported that the Parish Plan Team are in the final stages of producing an Action Plan for Durley and it will come to the Parish Council for the October Meeting. Once the Plan is agreed by the Parish Council a letter will be sent to residents explaining the next stage of the process.
A Sharing Services Recycling Meeting will be held in Bishops Waltham on 24th September. Cllrs Smith, Farr and Pitter, along with the Clerk will be attending. Rob Heathcock from WCC will be coming along to inform Councillors about recycling efforts in the Winchester District.
Parking at the entrance of Manor Road and outside of Beech Corner Garage are still causing problems. Requests for line markings to stop vehicles from parking in these dangerous parts of the road are still being pursued. DC Ruffell offered to see what action he can take to try and help.
A District Councillors Report was given by DC Ruffell. He reported that the Planning Committee were meeting on Thursday to have a site visit to the Whiteley development in the morning, and then the developers and objectors would have an opportunity to speak in the afternoon. Winchester may be taking some of the refugees which are coming into the UK. DC Ruffell said that the Council Tax Reduction Scheme has been withdrawn.
The Parish Councillor Code of Conduct Training Evening will be held on 5th October. Cllr Delmege and the Clerk will be attending.
The Hampshire Association of Local Councils AGM will be on 10th October. Cllr Charles will be asked if he would like to attend.
Cllr Pitter has reported pot holes that need to be filled in throughout Durley. Many have been repaired, but some still need attention. A pot hole in Gregory Lane was also reported at the Meeting. Overhanging shrubs and trees were reported and these will be cut back in the Sawmills.
An extractor fan has been fitted in the toilets and shower area in the Pavilion to try and help with the moisture problems. The guttering will be replaced when the Parish Lengthsman and Cllr Charles are available.
The Hall is running smoothly at the moment, but the sound system does still have a buzz in the right hand speaker. Cllr Smith will ask the engineer to see what the problem is.
